BRITTANY BY BIKE:
FROM NORTH FINISTÈRE TO MONT SAINT MICHEL

This cycling trip in North Brittany makes us live intensely all the strength and the mysticism of this so particular region, which is as much amazed by its intrinsic natural beauty as by its heritage. From the Iroise Sea to Saint-Malo, from the lighthouse of the Île Vierge to the Bay of Saint Brieuc, passing by the Pointe de Corsen, Roscoff, the Pink Granite Coast or the Cap Fréhel, we will never stop being amazed. We always ride as close as possible to the Breton coast, for a unique cycling experience between land and sea, in landscapes, atmospheres and colors sometimes unsuspected. Our adventure ends in beauty in front of the Mont Saint Michel and its magnificent bay.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Iroise Sea, Legends Coast, Pink Granite Coast, Emerald Coast
  • Breton towns and villages: Roscoff, Menez-Ham, Tréguier, Ploumanac’h, Dinard, Saint Malo
  • Fort la Latte and Mont Saint Michel (included in the guided version)

Supported Tour

The perfect balance between autonomy and assistance.

Thanks to the simplicity of use of the biking GPS, which we include, you can enjoy your day the way you want. We suggest places for lunch and dinner as well as the activities not to be missed on the itinerary we have created.

A support vehicle (van) and its driver-guide will accompany you. It will pick you up on the first day at the meeting place and drop you off at the end of your stay. At each stage, he transfers your luggage. For more security and comfort, the van is at your disposal for the duration of your trip. It will stay nearby to provide you with supplies, to solve any mechanical problems or to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in case of fatigue or capricious weather. Finally, since we choose to offer you the most beautiful itineraries, it sometimes requires a transfer to make the junction between two stages.

Our trips are privatized, offering you the guarantee to travel in small groups with your friends or family.

    BIKe itinerary

    Welcome to Brittany

We will meet you at the Rennes TGV station at 1pm before driving you to your hotel in Le Conquet. We will take advantage of this first day to adjust our bikes, discuss the stay and explore the charm of this small town and family resort on the Iroise coast..

    Le Conquet > LaNDEDA

At Le Conquet we can see the islands of Ouessant and Molène off shore. The Pointe de Corsen is the most western point of continental France. We pedal along a sublime coastline which alternates between white sand beaches, rocky heaps and fishing villages. A little later we arrive in the Abers, this small piece of coast also called Côte des Légendes.

    LANDEDA > ROSCOFF

The Legends Coast is guarded by majestic lighthouses. It is here that we find the highest concentration of lighthouses in Europe. The lighthouse of the Virgin Island dominates the coast from the top of its 84 m while the lighthouse of Pontusval guides the sailors off Brignogan-Plages. We find it just after visiting the picturesque thatched hamlet of Menez-Ham whose guard house is caught in a vice and the rocks. The day ends in the charming city of Roscoff, built on a peninsula open to the English Channel and facing the island of Batz.

    ROSCOFF > LOCQUIREC

Today, we go along the Bay of Morlaix, in the middle of which the Château du Taureau proudly stands, between the Léon and the Trégor. A stop in Carantec is necessary. This resort, popular with artists in the 1900’s, allows you to reach Ile Caillot by foot at low tide. The crossing of Morlaix harbor allows the most curious to discover the cairn of Barnenez. The scenery of the Pointes de Plougasnou and Locquirec continue to dazzle us.

    Locquirec > PLOUMANAC’H

We leave Finistère to enter the Côtes-d’Armor. After crossing Lannion we reach the Pink Granite Coast, famous for its colored rocks that light up in the sunlight. This chaos of islands and rocks sculpted by the sea and the wind holds a jewel in its heart: the lighthouse of Mean Ruz, near the charming village of Ploumanac’h.

    PLOUMANAC’H > L’ARCOUEST

Before reaching the medieval city of Tréguier, we discover the peninsula of Plougrescant and the Castel Meur abyss. Tréguier is an attractive little town with an impressive cathedral, testimony of a major artistic and cultural influence. We cross the Jaudy as soon as it leaves, in the direction of the Sillon de Talbert, a spectacular geological curiosity. Our day ends with a small detour by Loguivy de la Mer, just before joining the Pointe de l’Arcouest in front of the sublime island of Bréhat, at a ferry jump from our accommodation.

    L’ARCOUEST> Pléneuf-Val André

We cross Paimpol and its famous shipowners’ houses then the Goëlo Coast (Pointe de Plouézec, Pointe de Minard, Plage Bonaparte, Saint-Quay-Portrieux, Binic). The immensity and beauty of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc is already revealed before our eyes. We arrive shortly after in Pléneuf-Val André, famous for its fine sandy beaches and its scallops.

Pléneuf- Val André > St Briac sur mer

Our passage by the Cap Fréhel and by the Fort la Latte marks our arrival on the Emerald Coast. The Cap Fréhel is an exceptional site which dominates the sea of more than 70 meters. Guaranteed sensations for one of the most impressive sites of the region. The Fort la Latte is also really worth the detour, if only to enjoy the panorama on the Emerald Coast. We will not miss to go through Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, the peninsula with seven beaches.

St BRIAC SUR MER > mONT SAINT MICHEL

We quickly arrive in Dinard, a chic town whose majestic Belle Epoque villas face the corsair city of Saint-Malo. After crossing the Ranse River, we arrive at the foot of the fortifications of this city with its unique silhouette. We enter the city and continue towards Cancale and the Mont Dol. The closer we get, the more the silhouette of Mont Saint Michel becomes a reality. The cult of Saint Michael was introduced in 708 on the Mont. Over the centuries, it has become one of the largest medieval pilgrimage centers. At the end of the day, let’s discover the mysteries of this emblematic place.
