It is here, in the Loire Valley, that the “Art de vivre à la française” was born. During the Renaissance, François I, King of France, led a cultural policy whose ambition was to compete with the Italian supremacy. With their chimneys, their turrets and their bell towers, the Castles of the Loire Valley seem to come straight out of a fairy tale! Get on your bike and travel back in time along the royal river, the Loire Valley is yours! Chambord and its “magic” staircase, Chenonceau and its gallery spanning the waters, Amboise and its Royal Castle overlooking the waters. All these castles punctuate, with many others, the banks of the river. You will visit cities of art and history nestled at their feet, as well as residences evoking the memory of illustrious artists: Leonardo da Vinci and his Clos Lucé… The Loire Valley is also world-renowned vineyards, one of the most gourmet regions in France, troglodyte villages and immense forests! The inscription on the list of the world heritage of UNESCO rewarded the richness of the cultural landscapes of this territory.
We will meet you at Saint-Pierre-des-Corps TGV, near Tours, at 2 pm before taking you to your hotel in Tours. We take advantage of this first day to adjust your bikes and discuss the stay.
