Cycling the mythical Mont Ventoux & beyond

Omnipresent in the landscape of Provence, which it dominates from its 1909 m altitude, the Mont Ventoux is a giant. From its summit, the panorama opens onto the Alps, the Massif Central and the Mediterranean. But to do so will require great determination.

All around Mont Ventoux, under its bare top, lie wild gorges, orchards, olive trees, world famous vineyards, lavender fields and some of the most beautiful villages in France.

ride camp to and around the Mont Ventoux is a must. No doubt.

Mazan – 3 nights

Chateau de Mazan – 4*

At the heart of a Provencal village, between the Mont Ventoux and the Vaucluse Hills. Chateau de Mazan is a family run independent hotel with a very personnalized decoration. This is an elegant, warm and welcoming castle with a gourmet restaurant. It’s an ideal base to discover our beautiful Provence.

The Chateau was built circa 1720, during France’s early Regency Period. The most notorious individual within these four walls was, of course, the Marquis de Sade.
