Scotland: An Unforgettable Journey from the Western Highlands to the Isle of Skye
Experience an extraordinary Highlands to Isle of Skye bike tour with Veymont Travel. This premium van-supported cycling adventure is designed to take you through the very best of the Western Highlands, connecting the most iconic and breathtaking landmarks of the country in one seamless, challenging journey.
On this tour, you will ride through the most celebrated scenery the British Isles have to offer. Your adventure begins in the rugged expanse of Wester Ross, where winding single-track roads skirt the edge of deep sea lochs and pass under the shadows of ancient peaks. Riding along the Applecross peninsula, you will experience the raw beauty of the shoreline and the pure Highland air that has made this region a bucket-list destination for cyclists worldwide.
As you bridge the gap between the mainland and the coast, the route brings you to the doorstep of history at Eilean Donan Castle, perhaps Scotland’s most photographed fortress. From there, you cross over to the Isle of Skye. While the island is home to world-renowned landmarks, seeing them from the saddle offers a perspective that few travelers ever get. You will witness the geological wonders of the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr, feeling every inch of the terrain and the shifting northern weather.
Each stage of this cycling journey towards Skye is a masterpiece of coastal and panoramic riding. From the dramatic cliffs of Neist Point, where the iconic lighthouse stands guard over the edge of the world, to the medieval echoes of Dunvegan Castle, you will visit the essential sites that define the spirit of the Scottish West. These are the roads that have shaped the legends of the north, and we have curated the itinerary to ensure you experience them at the perfect pace.
This Scottish cycling holiday is as much about the destination as the journey. It is the reward of a local malt in the vibrant harbor of Portree, the warmth of a tavern in the palm-lined village of Plockton, and the quiet company of red deer and local cattle along the way. Join Veymont Travel for a curated cycling itinerary—a journey designed for those who want to experience Scotland’s most iconic landscapes in the most authentic and rewarding way possible.
