EXPLORING BOTH SIDES OF THE RHINE VALLEY

This Alsace & Black Forest bike tour is a mix of Europe at its best as you will discover two of its most beautiful regions. You ride your bicycle from Strasbourg to Titisee. Along the Alsace Wine Route, you explore magnificent vineyards and villages before crossing the Rhine for a finish throughout the legendary Black Forest

Day 1 : Welcome to Alsace

We will meet you at the Basel airport at a predetermined time before transferring you to your hotel in Strasbourg. In the afternoon we will take the opportunity to introduce you to the program and adjust your bike. In the late afternoon we visit the historical heart of Strasbourg, its Gothic cathedral and La Petite France

Accomodation: Hotel Les Haras 4* – Strasbourg

The change of scenery is on the agenda of this bike ride. From Strasbourg, we follow Canals reaching the first vineyards near Obernai, an essential stopover on the Alsace Wine Route. We make a detour to discover in the middle of the forest, the holiness of the Mont Saint-Odile.

After the Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg, we penetrate into the heart of the Alsace Wine Route as we sail through an ocean of vineyards and through some of France’s most beautiful villages such as Kaysersberg and Riquewihr. Then we reach Alsace’s most impressive town: Colmar.

Route: Option 1 : 45 km / 500 m Elevation Gain – Option 2 : 90 km / 1300 m Elevation Gain

Cultural hub and gastronomic step, Colmar is also a good starting point to explore the South of the Alsace Wine Route. We will finish this loop with a stop in Eguisheim, a medieval village surrounded by vineyards and nestled in a green setting. where we take the time to taste and appreciate the finesse and elegance of Alsace wines.

After crossing the Rhine, we enter the “Tuscany” of Germany and explore a hidden cycling treasure throughtout fruit trees and award-winning vineyards.Later on we reach Freiburg-im-Breisgau, which exudes a unique sweetness of life, at the foot of the Black Forest hills.

Route: Option 1 : 45 km / 350 m Elevation Gain – Option 2 : 80 km / 650 m Elevation Gain

Accomodation: Hotel Mercure Panorama 4* – Freiburg Im Breisgau

A challenging but panoramic route leads us into the heart of the Black Forest From here we run mainly along green peaks and views of the valleys. The day ends at Titisee, the largest natural lake in the Black Forest.
