THE MOST ICONIC CLIMBS OF THE FRENCH ALPS.

Their names are associated with the long days of July, when the Tour de France highlights them. All of them are unique natural sites, sometimes the heart of National Parks. For many, they are the very embodiment of wide open spaces and alpine landscapes. During this cycling tour we propose you to ride in the Alps the highest road pass : Iseran pass, to discover the glaciers of the Massif des Écrins from the summit of the Galibier, to evolve in the lunar landscape of Izoard pass, to count each turn of the Alpe d’Huez and finally to challenge the Croix de Fer.

Day 1 : Welcome to the French Alps

We will meet you at the Geneva airport at a predetermined time before transferring you to your hotel in Val Cenis. In the afternoon we will take the opportunity to introduce you to the program and adjust your bike.

Today you climb the Iseran pass which culminates at an altitude of 2770m. It is the highest road mountain pass of all the Alps. Weather conditions are often capricious, even in summer! During the 2019 edition of the Tour de France, it was on the descent to Val d’Isère that the race organization had neutralized the stage due to a mud slide.

From there, a panoramic view offers itself to you, allowing you to see the Mont Blanc on one side, the glaciers and eternal snows of the Écrins massif on the other. The long descent leads us to Briançon via the Col du Lautaret.

La Casse Déserte, a lunar landscape made of rock, is witness to the history of the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, a stele pays tribute to Fausto Copi and Louison Bobet. For the most courageous among you, the col de Granon (2413m) will offer an exceptional landscape over the Écrin massif.
