It is here, on the Normandy beaches, that one of the greatest military operations of all time took place on June 6, 1944: the D-Day Landings. Since these events, Normandy has been home to many emotionally-charged sites paying tribute to the soldiers who liberated France during the Second World War. You will visit the 5 D-Day beaches (Sword Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, Omaha Beach and Utah Beach) as well as the places that made history, from the Caen Memorial to Sainte-Mère-Eglise, from the Merville Battery to the Pointe du Hoc, including the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville sur Mer.
You will also have the opportunity to discover the Côte de Nacre, Bayeux and its cathedral as well as Barfleur (classified among the most beautiful villages of France) which shelters in its point the lighthouse of Gatteville, one of the highest in the world.
We will meet you at Caen TGV station at 1 pm and transfer you at your hotel in the center of Caen. We take advantage of this moment to adjust the bikes and present your stay. You’ll then enjoy the afternoon to visit Caen Memorial dedicated to the history of the 20th century and peace.
