At the mere mention of the word “Provence”, the imagination is stimulated.

A cycling trip in Provence is the ultimate way of life: the scents of lavender and scrubland, the singing of cicadas, sunny cuisine, and Chateauneuf du Pape wine tasting… An atmosphere that you will enjoy every single day during your tour. Visit the Abbey of Sénanque, the beautiful villages of the Luberon, the troglodytic habitat in Les Baux-de-Provence, the Pope Palace in Avignon, a morning market in Saint Remy de Provence. From the summit of the Mont Ventoux, the panorama opens onto the Alps and the Mediterranean. All around Mont Ventoux, under its bare top, lie the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Gorges de la Nesque, orchards, olive trees, lavender fields and world famous vineyards (Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de Venise), and some of the most beautiful villages in France.

Day 1 : Welcome to Provence

We will meet you at the Avignon TGV station at a predetermined time before transferring you to your hotel in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. In the afternoon we will take the opportunity to introduce you to the program, adjust your bike and explore this beautiful city which smells of Provence: café terraces caressed by the sun, a network of alleys leading to squares decorated with fountains… not to mention the Roman ruins, nestled at the foot of the limestone hills, witnesses of a rich past. This painting does not fail to seduce the artists who settle here in great numbers, following in the footsteps of Van Gogh and the composer Charles Gounod.

Perched on its eagle’s nest, the wonderful fortified village of Les Baux de Provence gives itself impregnable airs. Explore its narrow cobbled streets and the remains of the castle and enjoy the charm of this corner of paradise as you listen to the old stones serenely recount their past glory. Les Baux is also home to the monumental Light Quarries (Carrières de Lumières). The long option also takes us to Arles, a city of art and history, famous for its ancient remains from the Roman Empire.
