Bike tour in provence: Saint-Remy, Gordes, Mont Ventoux, Wine and Avignon

A bike tour in Provence is the ultimate way of life: the scents of lavender and scrubland, the singing of cicadas, sunny cuisine, and Chateauneuf du Pape wine tasting… An atmosphere that you will enjoy every single day during your tour. Visit the Abbey of Sénanque, the beautiful villages of the Luberon, the troglodytic habitat in Les Baux-de-Provence, the Pope Palace in Avignon, a morning market in Saint Remy de Provence…. and enjoy the show by opening your eyes wide to a nature where the green of the Luberon competes with the ochres of Roussillon and the purple of the lavender fields.

Omnipresent in the landscape of Provence, which it dominates from its 1909 m altitude, the Mont Ventoux is a giant. From its summit, the panorama opens onto the Alps and the Mediterranean. But to do so will require great determination.

All around Mont Ventoux, under its bare top, lie the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Gorges de la Nesque, orchards, olive trees, world famous vineyards (Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de Venise), and some of the most beautiful villages in France.

DAY 1 - Arrival in Saint-Remy

We welcome you at Marseille airport at 2 pm and drive you at your ideally located hotel in the charming village of Saint-Remy de Povence in the heart of the Alpilles.

After a bike fitting and a tour oriention, we will enjoy the beauty ofthis village, which smells of Provence: café terraces caressed by the sun, a network of alleys leading to squares decorated with fountains,.. not to mention the Roman ruins, nestled at the foot of the limestone hills, witnesses of a rich past. This painting does not fail to seduce the artists who settle here in great numbers, following in the footsteps of Van Gogh and the composer Charles Gounod.

Classified as one of the “most beautiful villages in France”, Gordes, perched on its cliff, dominates the valleys and facies the Luberon. The village offers to the sun its calades (cobbled streets lined with gutters with two rows of stones) where it is nice to get lost and its dry stone houses which line up to the buttresses of the castle.
