OUR STORY
It all started on a sun-drenched day in July 1997. We were just six and eight years old, standing on the hairpins of the Col de la Madeleine. The sweeping landscapes, the roar of the crowd, and the raw emotion of the Tour de France passing by left an indelible mark on us. That afternoon, a lifelong passion was born. It was a spark that would lead us back to the Tour every summer and set the rhythm of our youth. Today, Veymont Travel is the continuation of that story.
Autumn 2017. Twenty years later, while cycling the mystical roads to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, that childhood dream matured into a professional vision. Pedaling across one of the oldest routes in the world reinforced a deep-seated desire: to share the beauty of the road and offer curated cycling experiences to curious and passionate travelers. By the following spring, Veymont Travel was born.
Over the years, multiple professional experiences abroad—from Canada and Ireland to Scotland and Kyrgyzstan—have complemented our passion for cycling with a dedication to exploration, leading us naturally to evolve within the cycling travel industry. Our journey as professional guides has granted us exclusive access to the inner workings of the Tour de France—an insider’s perspective we now bring to every Veymont tour. Today, our cycling playground has expanded far beyond the French borders: from the edges of Europe to the peaks of Taiwan.
The Vercors massif, a land rich in history, is where we climbed our very first mountain passes. Our name is inspired by the “Grand Veymont”, the highest peak of the Vercors at 2,341m, linking our story to the one of our territory. Veymont Travel is based in France at the foot of the Vercors range, in the Rhône Valley, perfectly positioned between the Alps and Provence—within reach of the cycling world-famous Alpe d’Huez and Mont Ventoux.
