A bike experience through the vineyards of Chablis, Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits and the historic heart of Beaune

Burgundy is an open-air history lesson, where every road leads to a new architectural or viticultural treasure. To journey through these landscapes is to traverse centuries of heritage, from the world-renowned vineyards of Chablis, Côte de Beaune, and Côte de Nuits to the medieval splendor of towns like Auxerre, Semur-en-Auxois, and Beaune. This land of rolling hills and UNESCO-listed “climats” is where the glazed-tile roofs of the Hospices de Beaune and the majestic silhouette of the Vézelay Basilica define the horizon.

Our itinerary immerses you in the heart of the French terroir, following quiet wine roads and the peaceful banks of the Burgundy Canal. You will ride through prestigious estates—Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée, or Gevrey-Chambertin—tasting some of the world’s most refined wines where they are born. This cycling journey offers a perfect balance between rolling vineyard routes and the historic elegance of ducal cities, providing a deep immersion into the duchy’s prestigious past.

At the end of each stage, the experience continues in historic châteaux and former abbeys, where rich Burgundian gastronomy takes center stage. More than just a bike tour, it is a sophisticated celebration of tradition and excellence.

The Best Time to Cycle Burgundy

Burgundy is at its most spectacular from late May to early October. Late spring brings vibrant greens to the valleys, while September offers the unique energy of the harvest season (les vendanges). The stable, mild weather of early autumn provides the perfect light to ride through the “Golden Slopes” as the vines turn to gold.

The Burgundy route offers a perfect flow between rolling vineyard hills and the serene, flat paths along the Burgundy Canal. You will mostly ride on quiet wine roads and scenic country lanes with very little traffic. While the “Côtes” feature some gentle climbs that reward you with panoramic views, the overall pace is designed for discovery. Whether on a Road Bike or an E-bike, the experience is seamless and fully supported.
